Within the bedding and mattress side-industry, the border or edge tape of a mattress plays a critical role both structurally and visually. As a manufacturer of narrow woven tapes, we specialise in mattress tape engineered to meet the demanding requirements of mattress producers. According to industry guides, mattress tape is a “narrow woven fabric designed to create a finishing for the edges of the mattress … it covers up the borders of a mattress.” Our manufacturing process reflects that dual function: reinforcement plus aesthetics.

From a technical perspective, we select high tenacity polyester or polypropylene warp yarns (for edge stability, low moisture absorption, resistance to sagging) and pair them with carefully chosen weft yarns that provide the necessary body and handle. Our weaving process on narrow looms produces widths commonly 20mm-50mm (but negotiable) with construction parameters such as warp density, weft pick count, and fabric grammage optimised for tensile strength, cut-resistance and long-term dimensional stability. After weaving, we may apply finishing treatments such as anti-static, fire-retardant (if required by mattress standards), or heat-set fusing to ensure minimal shrinkage in end use.

In terms of functionality, mattress tape affixes the top panel ticking to the side panel and bottom panel of the mattress; reinforces the corner areas where stress is highest; conceals the seam and thereby improves the visual finish; and can also serve as a branding or design element (via woven logos or printed ribbons).
