Read MoreWithin the home textiles domain, the finishing of curtains involves specialised narrow woven solutions — notably curtain tape (also known as curtain extra-for tape, pleating tape, heading tape). As a woven narrow tape manufacturer, we are proud to produce curtain tapes engineered for pleating, gathering and functional support of draperies. The curtain tape is typically sewn or heat-bonded to the head of the curtain panel, allowing hooks or gliders to attach and enabling uniform pleat/gather formation. To perform successfully, the tape must have controlled elongation, consistent width, stable weave, and ability to handle tension during installation and use.
Our manufacturing process begins with choosing warp yarns of high strength (polyester multifilament) to support the weight and tension of full-length curtains. Weft yarns may incorporate latent elastane (for moderate stretch) or a combination of cotton/polyester for hand feel and durability. The narrow woven machine is programmed for specific pick density and width control (often 25mm, 38mm, 50mm, etc) with extra selvedge reinforcing to avoid fraying. After weaving, finishing might include heat-setting to stabilise the construction, application of a latex strip (to adhere to curtain heading tape), or ultrasonic edge‐sealing.
Functionally, our curtain tapes allow for consistent train of pleats (pencil, box, goblet pleats), easy hook/eyelet insertion and ongoing dimensional stability (no sagging or curling). The tape contributes to the overall look of the finished drapery, supports the weight of the fabric, and allows repeatable assembly in commercial or residential installations.
