BINDING TAPE LT-1000

In the world of narrow woven textiles, binding tape represents a technical and aesthetic finishing solution for textile edges, furniture, upholstery, mattress foundations, and other applications demanding durable edge definition. As a manufacturer of binding tape, we understand that edge binding must deliver clean selvage, uniform width, high abrasion resistance and the correct handle for its end use.

Binding tape is described in industry glossaries as: “Fabric tape used to bind and close the mattress or foundation … providing the edge trimming for the mattress or foundation.” In upholstery and textile finishing the binding tape serves to fold over raw edges, conceal seams, and give the product a polished appearance. We produce binding tapes using a variety of yarns – cotton, polyester, nylon, polypropylene – chosen based on final performance requirements: cotton for soft hand feel, polyester for tensile strength and colour fastness, polypropylene for moisture and chemical resistance.

Technically our binding tape production emphasizes narrow-width weaving with edge reinforcement: the warp beams are tension‐controlled, edge warps are heavier to prevent fraying, and the weft insertion is calibrated to ensure balanced construction and minimal curl. We may apply over-lock or heat-cut edges, depending on client preference, and finishing such as latex-backing or adhesive backing (for furniture upholstery binding) can be added. In the case of upholstery binding, a latexing process may be applied to provide keyed backing so that the binding tape adheres securely once stitched or glued into piece goods.

From an application viewpoint, binding tapes produced by us are used in mattresses, sofas, carpets, bags, strap edges and heavy‐duty textiles. Our custom offering includes width selection (from e.g., 10mm to 60mm), yarn counts, weave type (flat, herringbone, twill), colour matching, logo inclusion and packaging in coils or cut lengths.
